Have you ever had a piece of wood that was so good it changed your entire life?
No. Not that kind of wood.
Actual wood.
Because oddly enough, I have.
The day we met (we as in me and the piece of wood) was an ordinary Florida day.

I was amongst a collection of my art work, while I collected ample amounts of boob sweat in my bra.
I'm not entirely sure just which collection is bigger, but there I am drenched in sweat when my friend Hannah, flashing me her toothy grin.
"Hey I saw this and thought of you."
Glancing at her hands, I see she has a rugged piece of wood in her hands. The tiger like grain is immaculate. I study its stripes with admiration. My eyes light up and my mouth pulls into a happy grin.
"It's so veiny!" I say, giggling. "Just the way I like it," I joke.
If she catches my perverted joke, she certainly doesn't think it's funny.
Instead she flashes me her big toothy grin and a wave, then turns to leave.
"Wait," I say, clutching the rugged board to my chest. "Thank you...for this." I say waving the weathered wood in the air.
"Of course," she says turning on her heal to leave once again. This time, I don't stop her.
Two years later, that same board would become the catalyst that would change my life forever.
On a whim, I made a video of me painting the board. When I woke up a few days later, the video had over 500,000 views which was a lot back then. Not only was it a lot...it was enough. The semi viral video was shared amongst diyers, crafters, and artists across Facebook.
And while I'd argue that one viral video usually doesn't change your life, this one did mine. And not only did it change mine, but as a result. it changed thousands of other lives too and I think there's something really beautiful about that.
That's a story for another day...
What I'm trying to say, is that one piece of good wood, just might change your life as well.
Wood is metaphor here... but you get the idea. I hope you get some good wood really soon.
Until next time..
