Sacred 13 Energy: Why Your Body Understands Time Better Than Calendars Do

For those of you that followed me for a while, you know I have thing for the number 13. Or rather, the number 13 seems to have a thing with me.

If you're new here, I'll have to explain that part another day because today I don't want to talk about my connection to the number 13. I want to talk about entire universe's connection to the number 13.

    Some numbers feel neutral.

    Others feel… loaded.

13 is one of those numbers. And for good reason.

It shows up everywhere...moons, bodies, breakdowns, rebirth and yet we’re told it’s unlucky, chaotic, even evil...and certainly something to avoid. Which is funny, because biologically speaking, 13 is the most natural number we have.

At its core, 13 represents cycles.

    Not superstition.

    Not rebellion for rebellion’s sake.

    Just rhythm and flow.

Perhaps you've noticed where 13 shows up naturally:

13 lunar cycles in a solar year

13 menstrual cycles for many menstruating bodies

    13 weeks per season

13 major joints in the human body

13 tones of creation in ancient calendars

Before productivity apps and Gregorian calendars, humans tracked time by what moved reliably:

    The moon.

    The body.

    The seasons.

Many ancient systems were built on 13-cycle frameworks, including:

    Mayan Tzolkin (13 creation tones)

Ancient Egyptian initiatory paths (13 stages of transformation)

    Celtic lunar calendars (13 moons)

Indigenous timekeeping systems that followed nature, not domination

    Back then, 13 wasn’t “unlucky.”

    Just simply accurate.

The human body itself already runs on a 13-cycle system.

For example, a typical menstrual cycle is about 28 days.

There are 13 of those in a year.

Your body has been keeping a 13-month calendar this entire time. Society just refuses to acknowledge it.

Now this one I'm pulling out of my bunghole, but I have this theory that certain types of people are drawn to the number 13 more so than others. The short answer: neurodivergent people.

PMDD, ADHD, intuitive creatives, pattern-recognizers...13 doesn’t feel chaotic to these people. It feels accurate.

13 Isn’t THE problem. It isn't even A problem, but they still leave out the 13th floor of most buildings. Are they afraid of the natural feminine cycle? The rhythm of the universe? And if so, why might that be?

I suppose they can continue living in fear, but over here? We're embracing the lucky 13 for everything she really is.
